Course Introduction:
The Course in Anaphylaxis Awareness provides students with the necessary skills to recognise, treat and manage an anaphylactic reaction in the workplace, childcare setting or school.
Qualification & Recognition:
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded the nationally recognised qualification in 21827VIC Anaphylaxis Awareness.
Pre-Requisite:
This training is available to any person who is required to manage a person who is at risk of an anaphylactic reaction.
Course Length & Delivery:
The program is delivered in the workplace. This competency based course is a short course of 3 contact hours plus time required for the participant to develop a Risk Assessment Plan in their workplace
Assessment:
The Course in Anaphylaxis Awareness is:
Valid for 3 years.
There is no prerequisite for undertaking the competency based training.
To be awarded a statement of attainment participants will have to achieve competency in or complete:
Recognition of allergy and anaphylaxis – Scenario tested competency
Administration of an EpiPen – Scenario tested competency
Demonstrate knowledge of policy/allergy – True/False knowledge test
Complete a Risk Assessment of their Workplace – there will be a random follow up within 6 weeks of a selected participant completing the course.
Competency is assessed through a combination of assignments, progress, tests and clinical assessments.

Registration forms can be downloaded from www.ctaonline.com.au The completed form can be submitted to CTA in person or via mail/fax with the required supporting documentation and payment to ensure your place in the course.
