We deliver a variety of courses with a major focus on health, aged care and nursing - a growth industry with significant staffing shortages.
Course Introduction:
Upon completion of the CHC40108 Certificate IV in Aged Care Work qualification, graduates will carry out activities related to the maintenance of the individual’s wellbeing through personal care and/or other activities of living. They may provide services to individuals with complex needs, and/or work with groups of older people. Reporting to Service Managers and liaising with professionals and other service providers, they may also be required to supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of other workers. Care Training Australia is also able to offer this course as a traineeship.
Qualification & Recognition:
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded the nationally recognised CHC40108 Certificate IV in Aged Care Work.
Credit Transfer:
If students have already successfully completed units within the qualification, credit can be granted within the program.
Recognition of Prior Learning & Current Competencies:
Competencies gained through other formal study or experience may be recognised through a recognition process.
Job Prospects:
Graduates from the course may apply for work in the Aged Care industry. Occupational names may include Support Worker, Carer, Personal Care Worker or Care Team Leader.
Opportunities for Further Study:
Articulation may be possible to a degree/diploma course, usually assessed on an individual basis.
Pre-Requisite:
- Students who have not successfully completed Year 12 with passes in both Maths and English or Certificate IV or higher in Australia will be required to sit a literacy and numeracy test, this can be completed through Care Training Australia.
- Students are required to provide evidence of their Certificate III in Aged Care completion.
- Successful applicants who are required to undergo clinical placement must provide a Victorian Police Records Check and meet vaccination requirements prior to official placement.
Course Length & Delivery:
The program is conducted at your workplace over 12 months.
Assessment:
Competency is assessed through a combination of written tasks, workplace observation, role plays, case studies and class participation.
