Course Introduction:

The Certificate IV in Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) HLT43407 is a qualification designed to give graduates entry into the Nursing Profession as a Registered Nurse Division 2 (Medication Endorsed). The knowledge and skills gained from this program will give you a pathway to many exciting career options within the healthcare industry. Students will be qualified to work in many areas as a Division 2 Nurse such as: acute care, mental health, aged care, rehabilitation and community nursing. We are pleased to be able to offer the new medication administration component as part of this course to increase employability and skills for Division 2 Nurses. CTA also has a number of funded places available for this course, subject to conditions.

Qualification & Recognition:

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded the nationally recognised qualification Certificate IV in Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) HLT43407. Achievement of this qualification will enable students to apply to the Nurses Board of Victoria for registration as a Registered Nurse Division 2 (Medication Endorsed).

Pre-Requisite:

  • All applicants are required to attend and complete a Care Training Australia conducted a literacy and numeracy test and interview with the course coordinator.
  • Successful applicants must provide a current Victorian Police Record Check, proof of Australian citizenship, permanent residency or an appropriate visa, and meet vaccination requirements prior to clinical placement.

Credit Transfer:

If students have already successfully completed units within the qualification, credit can be granted within our program.

Recognition of Prior Learning & Current Competencies:

Competencies gained through other formal study or experience may be acknowledged through a recognition process.

Job Prospects:

Graduates from the program may apply for work in the Acute, Aged, Rehabilitation, Mental Health and Community Health sectors.

Opportunities for Further Study:

Articulation may be possible to a diploma/degree course, usually assessed on an individual basis.

To find out if you are eligible for a traineeship please contact us.  This form of training is delivered with Victorian Government Funding, but please remember you will need to apply through your employer.

Course Length & Delivery:

The program is conducted over 18 months on campus and consists of blocks of classes that are 2 or 3 days a week 9am-4pm and blocks of clinical placements that are 3-5 days a week.

Assessment:

Competency is assessed through a combination of role plays, self directed learning activities, presentations, essays, case studies, assignments, tests and clinical placements.

Program Structure:

An accredited Medical Terminology course is included within the program and is delivered at the commencement of the program. Medication Administration with the injectables component is new to the course and accredited by the Nurses Board of Victoria.
