Eligibility for Traineeship

This means, if the potential student fits the following criteria of:

a) New Worker

Employed at a workplace – less than 3 months full time or - less than 12 months part time

b) No Prior Qualifications

Have no qualifications higher than a Certificate II or if higher obtained more than 7 years ago and in any industry through Government Funding.

i.e. must not have a Certificate III qualification in any industry. People who have degrees are generally ineligible

They may then be eligible for a Traineeship. The student or workplace will be required to contact an Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC) to come to the workplace to explain the conditions further and reassess student eligibility.

Once the student is deemed eligible then the student, workplace representative and the AC representative will sign a tripartite agreement which will trigger student course fees to be paid to the student nominated Registered Training Organisation (RTO) at designated course module progression.

The student will then be required to contact the RTO and complete registration forms and prerequisites prior to course commencement.
