Course Introduction:

The course in Workplace Hygiene Procedures qualification gives graduates the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to apply good hygiene practices within a range of service industry operations. It requires the ability to follow predetermined procedures, identify and control simple hazards and take particular hygiene measures to ensure the no contamination of food and other items that might put customers, colleagues and self at a health risk.

Qualification & Recognition:

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded the nationally recognised qualification in Follow Workplace Hygiene Procedures SITXOHS002A. This unit applies to frontline operational personnel who work under close supervision and guidance from others during the normal course of their daily activities.

Pre-Requisite:

This unit is one of three hierarchical units describing varying levels of participation in food safety processes:

• SITXOHS002A Follow workplace hygiene procedures
• SITXFSA001A Implement food safety procedures
• SITXFSA002A Develop and implement a food safety program.

Recognition of Prior Learning & Current Competencies:

Competencies gained through other formal study or experience may be acknowledged through a recognition process.

Job Prospects:

Graduates from the course may apply for work in the Aged Care industry, Hospitality industry, Childcare industry and Nursing. * Please note that is only a pathway, further training is required for these jobs.

Course Length & Delivery:

The program is delivered either on campus at CTA or at the workplace over 2 hours.

Assessment:

Competency is assessed through a combination of observatiion and tests.
