Course Introduction:

The course in Implement Food Safety Procedures qualification gives graduates the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to handle food safely during the storage, preparation, display, service and disposal of food within a range of service industry operations. It requires the ability to follow predetermined procedures as outlined in an organisation food safety program.

Qualification & Recognition:

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded the nationally recognized qualification in Implement Food Safety Procedures SITXFSA001A.

Pre-Requisite:

SITXOHS002A - Follow workplace hygiene procedures
In some cases food handlers and especially designated food safety supervisors, may be required to formally achieve competence in implementing safe food handling practices.

Credit Transfer:

If students have already successfully completed units within the qualification, credit can be granted within our program.

Recognition of Prior Learning & Current Competencies:

Competencies gained through other formal study or experience may be acknowledged through a recognition process.

Job Prospects:

Graduates from the course may apply for work in the Aged Care industry.

Opportunities for Further Study:

Students achieving this qualification will be eligible to progress to level four studies.

The program is delivered either on campus at CTA or online.

Assessment:

Competency is assessed through a combination of assignments, progress, tests and clinical assessments.
